Missions

The work of the Lord presses on each day, daily around the world. We realize the smallest contribution can help make a positive difference. The word mission is defined as, “The business with which such a body of persons is charged”. As Christians it is our mission to carry out our Heavenly Father’s work. At Bible Baptist Church Church, our mission is to reach the world for Christ. It is our continuing goal to support Christian missions locally, nationally and internationally.

Cooperative Program Missions Giving

Giving to the Cooperative Program supports a wide array of ministries and missions around the world including: evangelism efforts, children’s homes, volunteer missions, missions education, new churches, colleges and universities, collegiate ministries, camps, and much more. Annie Armstrong Emphasis (Home Missions)

Each year, we honor the life and work of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938) when we give to the annual offering for home missions named after her. As a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of mission efforts throughout the world, Annie Armstrong led women to unite in mission endeavors that ultimately led to the formation of Woman’s Missionary Union, for which she served as the first corresponding secretary. Lottie Moon Emphasis (Foreign Missions)

Southern Baptist churches collect the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for the sole purpose of supporting international missions. Every penny of the offering goes to the International Mission Board’s overseas budget, thus supporting our missionaries.

God is giving Southern Baptists unprecedented opportunities to join Him in His work in the world. Recent natural disasters continue to remind us of the urgency of reaching the lost before it is too late. If we are going to join God on mission, we must have a God-sized vision and heart that leads us to sacrificial giving – for the nations as well as for those called to go. More information about the Lottie Moon Offering can be found at www.imb.org.
